Rico got his first guitar from his parents for his 10th Birthday. Four years later he become the youngest member of the national folk ensemble. Thus he started to play, sing and travel internationally gaining experience which he can use in his future career. As distinguished member of the folk orchestra he gain a lot of international rewards. With only 16 years old he compose and records his first song.

When he turns 20 years old, decides to travel to Australia to gain new experiences, where he performs individually and as a part of a band on different stages. He meets famous names from the music world in Melbourne and is very much respected among the musicians in Victoria. He stays there for a year. The music and his traveling doesn’t stop Rico to continue with his wider education. He graduates with honour Geography at the State University of Natural science.

In 1989 Rico Sanchez accepts an offer from a Austrian music agency and moves to Austria. It doesn’t take long the distinguished and specific Rico’s voice to be heard and remembered among the Austrian and German public. Performing the music of Gipsy Kings, he also composed his own music and it takes him only a year to record his first CD “Un “Deseo”.

Rico Sanchez and his band continue to perform on the most European famous music festivals as Donauinsel fest, Kiler Woche, Konstanzer Woche and share the stage with famous names as Jürgen Drews, Dj Ötzi, Bad Boys Blue, Sidney Youngblood…….

In 2009 Rico Sanchez was performing as a guest to Hansi Hinterseer Open air in Кitzbuchel.That was a great and memorable concert broadcasted on the Austrian German and Swiss TV.

With the increasing popularity Rico Sanchez and The Gypsies penetrates on the Eastern European music stage which is specifically fond of his Gipsy music. With over 500 performances in Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia Check Republic, Moldavia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan…..

Rico becomes a brand name. He is broadcasted and participates in many TV shows, among which the New Year’s show in Ukraine “Kvartal 95” followed by 20 million people, and the biggest European Gypsy festival in Poland followed by 15 million.

Rico and his band Rico Sanchez & The Gypsies participated and were also part of the 9th World Economy Forum, which took place in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he share the stage with the great Robin Gibb,London Beat, Al di Meola…

Today we can hear Rico’s music on many radio stations in Europe, Russia and Asia. His performances are always crowded, His sound rich and unique, leaves the audience with ever lasting memories.
