Giuseppe Verdi's legendary opera with an unforgettable "Jewish Choir", Nabucco, is coming to Bohemia!
A magnificent performance for opera lovers will be held at Vypich, Prague, on August 29, 2018.
The uniqueness of the whole experience will be enhanced by beautiful backdrops and costumes that will be dressed in the open air by top opera artists from Italy, Russia, Germany, Israel, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The choir together with the orchestra consists of 120 performers. The opera with Italian subtitles, wiil be led this evening by the czech leading conductor Miloš Formáček.
In Nabucco, Verdi taught the biblical theme of the Old Testament: The Babylonians, led by King Nebuchadnezzar (Nabucco), will rush into Jerusalem, destroy the Solomon's temple, and take the Jewish people into captivity. But Jehovah God of the Jews will punish the king by sending him a curse of madness. Nabucco, who had to face the intrigues of his alleged daughters, Abigail finally recognizes his guilt, recognizes the power and size of God the Jehovah, and returns Jews to freedom. The power of this work lies mainly in impressive massive scenes and choral performances.
The "Jewish Choir" is still popular today, and at the time of the opera, it became an expression of the Italian people's desire for independence.
