Jan P. Muchow holds several awards from the Czech Music Academy in various categories: Album of the Year, Composition of the Year, Discover the Year, Best Soundtrack, etc. In 1996 he played the main male role in the David Ondříček Šeptej film, to which he also composed the film music. Since then, he has composed music for more than 30 feature and documentary films.

In the history of the Czech Film and Television Academy of the Czech Lion, JPM is by far the most successful composer - he has received four times the Czech Lion for the films Jedna ruka netleská, Grandhotel, Ve stínu (all directed by David Ondříček), Krásno (directed by Ondřej Sokol). Five nominations for the films Samotáři (directed by David Ondříček), Václav (directed by Jiří Vejdělek), Normal (directed by Julius Ševčík), Ženy v pokušení (directed by Jiří Vejdělek) and the Okresní přebor - Poslední zápas Pipika Hnátka (directed by Jan Prušinovský). He also won the Czech Film Critics Award for the music of the film Ve stínu and the prize of the Slovak Film Academy Slnko v sieti.

In addition to film music, it also features scenic music, and audiences can hear it every day in the form of television sounds or music in serials such as Kriminálka Anděl, Dokonalý svět or První krok.
